Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Custodian position with Polk County School Board is based in Perry, Florida. The role focuses on keeping the school environment clean, safe, orderly, and presentable while supporting day-to-day facility needs.

Key Duties

• Carry out regular custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks to support safety and the overall appearance of the facility, including using and looking after assigned equipment.
• Help move and lift heavy items when needed.
• Work with the direct supervisor to identify custodial, maintenance, and safety concerns or needs.
• May be responsible for locking and securing the building after standard school hours and during evening events.
• Follow state rules for storing flammable materials and for disposing of trash, rubbish, and other waste properly.
• May be asked to oversee hallways, restrooms, walkways, and the lunchroom area at the school site.
• Protect confidential information and maintain a high level of discretion.
• Complete additional tasks assigned by the site administrator.
