About ART UNLOCKED
ART UNLOCKED is a thoughtfully designed gallery walk experience aiming to make contemporary art accessible and engaging. Our guides, known as artmates, lead intimate groups through select galleries, using a unique approach combining elements of art appreciation, neuroscience, and coaching. This program fosters a deeper connection with contemporary art, encouraging personal growth, confidence in exploring the art world, and potentially inspiring art collecting.
Role Overview
We offer a part-time B2B collaboration role for an artmate in Berlin. This position involves leading small groups on curated gallery walks, sharing knowledge, and encouraging engaging discussions about contemporary art. Responsibilities include coordinating with local galleries, researching exhibitions, and crafting inclusive, interactive experiences. Supporting content creation for ART UNLOCKED’s social channels and nurturing gallery partnerships are also key aspects of this role.
Note that our gallery walks prioritize conversation and interpretation over formal lectures or chronological history lessons. Enthusiasm for dialogue, curiosity, and exploration is essential.
Working Hours
Flexible hours, primarily Thursdays to Saturdays between 12:00 and 17:00.
Requirements
- Passion or strong knowledge in contemporary art, art history, or visual culture
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for diverse audience engagement
- Ability to research, organize, and effectively present information
- Experience in facilitation, public speaking, or teaching
- Proactive and cooperative approach to maintaining gallery relationships
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Familiarity with Berlin's contemporary art gallery scene preferred
- Adaptability to varying group dynamics and schedules
