Job Overview
This critical operational role serves as the main link between Traffic Management (TTM) field teams and the Operational Support unit. The Crew Supervisor will manage daily scheduling and deployment of crews from the Silverdale branch to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively coordinate daily TTM operations including crew, vehicle, and equipment allocation to meet safety, job, and client standards.
- Conduct routine site and field audits to ensure safe, compliant Traffic Management delivery across locations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship by offering clear guidance, consistent communication, coaching, and performance reviews to cultivate a committed and efficient team.
- Serve as the primary client liaison to provide daily updates, resolve minor issues, and maintain high-quality service aligned with client expectations.
- Promote safety culture by encouraging safe conduct, monitoring compliance, documenting incidents, and assisting with investigations.
Position Details
This is a full-time position typically involving 50 hours weekly with periodic on-call duties. The work spans day and night across the Auckland region, including reactive assignments. To support mobility and connectivity, a company vehicle will be provided for travel to job sites and branches as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in temporary traffic management, civil infrastructure, or construction, ideally in an operational leadership or coordinator role.
- Thorough understanding of traffic management plans, designs, and methodologies.
- Strong capabilities in planning, scheduling, problem-solving, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Confidence in leading and mentoring field teams working in safety-critical, fast-paced conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain professionalism and clarity.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations.
- Holds a valid full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence.
- Physically fit and comfortable with active, hands-on work environments.
- Possession of a Site Traffic Management Supervisor - Practicing Qualification is mandatory.
