Job description

Role overview

This position sits within a global risk program focused on regulatory change, strategic initiatives, and incremental business transformation. The role calls for a seasoned project delivery professional with strong risk domain expertise to drive complex workstreams and ensure outcomes are delivered effectively.

What you will do

  • Lead multiple important workstreams that contribute to broader risk management initiatives.
  • Align project scope with senior stakeholders and maintain control of scope across the full project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate all delivery resources, integrate their tasks into a clear and defensible project plan, and guide team members through mentoring and support.
  • Work effectively with stakeholders at different seniority levels across the organization.
  • Set clear success measures for each project stage and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget against agreed KPIs.
  • Track dependencies between projects and assess how they may affect delivery timelines or outcomes.
  • Ensure all work follows the organization’s project governance standards and protocols.
  • Manage stakeholder communication so project progress is transparent, timely, and well-articulated in both daily execution and governance forums.
  • Provide timely updates on status, risks, and issues to management and governance groups, including escalation and resolution with portfolio leadership and senior management when needed.
  • Understand end-to-end risk business processes to support effective requirements gathering and identify synergies across initiatives.
  • Use strong communication skills to present complex Market Risk or Credit Risk topics clearly to senior leadership.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements with relevant Market Risk or Credit Risk stakeholders to define business needs and drive delivery.
  • Act as a business gatekeeper by ensuring issues are raised to IT appropriately, prioritized correctly, and fully understood and agreed globally.
  • Work closely with business users, business analysts, and IT teams to make sure requirements are captured accurately and delivered as expected.
  • Promote continuous improvement by leading retrospective reviews that raise delivery quality and improve team cadence.
  • Collaborate across the global business, IT, BAs, QA, and development teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience and background

The role requires at least 8 years of relevant experience, ideally in Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk management, or Risk Technology in a project or program management capacity. Prior exposure to credit risk system implementations, regulatory programs, credit risk systems/data, and the processes used to generate credit risk regulatory capital is important. Experience in managing business analysis and project management resources across several concurrent workstreams is also expected.

Technical and domain expertise

Strong knowledge of Market Risk or Counterparty Credit Risk metrics and concepts is needed, including VaR, Expected Shortfall, IRC, PD, LGD, EAD, PE, PFE, EEPE, RWA, Settlement Risk, and Stress Testing. A working understanding of credit risk data flows, architecture, and risk limits is also required. The candidate should be comfortable adapting delivery methods to suit different projects and stakeholder needs across the project lifecycle.

Delivery and testing responsibilities

Experience in defining testing approaches, preparing test plans, and coordinating testing is expected. The candidate should also have a proven ability to gather requirements from end users and convert them into user, functional, and non-functional specifications for development teams, while working with IT to confirm the design satisfies those requirements.

Tools and working knowledge

Proficiency with delivery and collaboration tools such as MPP, Confluence, and JIRA is required, along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.

Professional profile

The ideal candidate is self-driven, highly detail-oriented, accurate, and consistently timely in execution. Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. A strong academic background and relevant finance, risk, or project management certifications such as MBA, PMP, Agile Scrum Master, or FRM are preferred.
