Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Credit Analyst specialized in Energy and Renewables to join our Institutional Banking Group at DBS Bank in London on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone with experience handling Energy and Renewable sector clients, possessing robust credit analysis skills and strong interpersonal abilities. The selected candidate will join a dynamic and expanding team, supporting the growth of our portfolio with a strategic focus on connecting European Energy and Renewable clients to our Asian franchise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the energy and renewables sectors while continuously expanding market and corporate knowledge.
- Identify new income opportunities by leveraging deep understanding of clients, industry sectors, and banking products.
- Offer strategic and marketing assistance to Relationship Managers to support portfolio growth.
- Contribute towards achieving or surpassing the team’s annual revenue targets.
- Ensure the portfolio’s credit integrity through timely, concise credit analyses and ongoing risk monitoring, including financial review, forecasting, and modeling.
- Recognize structural risks and documentation issues proactively and manage these throughout the life of facilities.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory standards and bank policies, including Know-Your-Customer protocols.
Credit Duties
- Prepare comprehensive credit applications and annual credit reviews by evaluating company financials, industry analysis, and risk-return elements in compliance with DBS risk frameworks.
- Perform continuous risk monitoring using financial data analysis and stress testing where applicable.
- Manage effective execution of approved credit facilities including legal documentation review, negotiation, and post-approval support such as amendments and waivers.
- Maintain thorough understanding of DBS credit policies and procedures.
Relationship Management
- Manage existing client relationships to maximize returns within credit approval limits, including travel to Europe and Asia as required.
- Support Relationship Managers with client servicing, business development, and administrative documentation.
- Collaborate effectively across departments and geographies, including coordination with Singapore-based teams and the wider DBS network.
- Respond promptly and resolve issues raised by clients or colleagues.
Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with applicable internal and external regulations, policies, and guidelines.
