Role Purpose

The Creative Producer plays a key role within Complex’s video division at the crossroads of innovation, live production, and creative development. This position is responsible for delivering Complex LIVE programming and contributing to the creation and visualization of new video formats and franchises across multiple platforms. The role demands a blend of practical production skills and visionary creative thinking, working in a fast-paced environment to translate culture into engaging live and digital video experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and produce high-quality live content including live streams and recurring shows that embody Complex’s distinctive style and standards.
• Oversee collaboration with studio, production, social teams, and talent to ensure smooth and consistent broadcast execution and social media distribution.
• Lead ideation and development of new video formats through creative brainstorming sessions, transforming concepts into detailed decks, treatments, and pilot-ready materials.
• Research emerging creators, talent, and cultural trends to inform content development aligned with audience interests.
• Utilize AI tools and emerging technologies to create compelling visualizations and pre-production imagery to support creative work.
• Support the management of the Greenlight process and guide approved projects into pilot stages.
• Work closely with executive and cross-functional teams including Editorial, Social, and Commerce to ensure brand consistency and alignment of creative strategies.
• Contribute ongoing creative support to existing franchises and develop ideas for special episodes and extensions.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of four years’ experience in digital video production, live streaming, or creative development.
• Demonstrable expertise producing and directing live multi-camera digital content.
• Strong cultural insight with an ability to spot trends, emerging talent, and craft digital storytelling formats.
• Effective communication, presentation, and design skills capable of producing visually impactful decks.
• Knowledge of streaming platforms including YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Instagram Live, along with their community dynamics.
• Comfort or willingness to incorporate AI and cutting-edge tech as creative visualization tools.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management capabilities.
• A collaborative attitude, creativity, and passion for culture and innovation.
• Availability to work on-site full-time in SoHo, New York City.
