Role Overview
We are seeking a Part-time Creative Designer to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis to cover maternity leave. This role requires delivering concept designs and detailed sales floor plans or elevations under the guidance of the design lead.
Primary Duties
- Develop high-resolution digital visualizations and conceptual designs that meet quality standards.
- Design and produce digital and physical mood boards and design intentions for holiday homes and lodges.
- Communicate proactively with suppliers to confirm the availability of products or select suitable alternatives.
- Keep abreast of key competitors and market trends to ensure alignment with our overarching design strategy.
- Support updating the Design Catalogue and Product specifications as necessary.
- Gather and act proactively on both internal and external feedback to enhance design processes and outputs.
- Create and present design proposals to staff and clients effectively.
- Provide accurate drawings and visualizations fit for customer presentations and production requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Technical, and Procurement departments.
- Ensure new products and designs are optimized for manufacturing and conform to project budgets.
- Supply technical CAD data to suppliers, technical teams, and Bill of Materials coordinators as needed.
- Participate in trade shows, events, and meetings offsite when required.
- Fulfill administrative tasks linked to the design function.
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree in product or interior design, or equivalent professional experience.
- Skilled at creating fabric and color schemes relevant to holiday homes.
- Understanding of pertinent manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in furniture design and a strong interest in interior design.
- Attentive to detail with a motivated and target-driven approach and a positive attitude.
- Experience crafting mood boards.
- Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor for design purposes.
- Competency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar graphic design software.
- Strong skills with SketchUp software for both concept creation and final design visuals.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and collaboratively within a team environment.

This fixed-term position offers part-time hours totaling 22.5 per week to cover a maternity absence.
