Role overview
PBL Transport Corporation Private Limited is hiring an experienced Crane Electrician Technician for work on crawler cranes and telescopic mobile cranes. The role involves hands-on electrical fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance for heavy cranes and lifting equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out electrical troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs on crawler cranes and telescopic mobile cranes.
- Interpret electrical circuit drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic-electrical interface systems.
- Identify and resolve issues in PLCs, sensors, relays, CAN bus networks, limit switches, load moment indicators (LMI), and crane safety devices.
- Inspect, repair, and replace parts such as wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, starters, controllers, and electrical panels.
- Respond to crane breakdowns at project sites and provide on-the-spot technical support.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections of crane electrical systems.
- Verify the proper operation of boom systems, outrigger systems, hoist systems, and safety interlocks.
- Use electrical testing equipment including multimeters and insulation testers.
- Work in line with OEM instructions, safety practices, and company procedures during all maintenance work.
- Partner with mechanical and hydraulic teams to complete end-to-end troubleshooting and repair.
Skills and knowledge expected
- Strong understanding of crawler cranes and telescopic mobile cranes.
- Solid knowledge of electrical and electronic systems used in heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and wiring schematics.
- Working knowledge of CAN bus systems, sensors, PLCs, and crane safety systems.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability.
- Familiarity with integrated hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Capability to work independently at sites and under breakdown conditions.
Qualification and experience
Candidates should hold an ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering. Additional certification related to heavy equipment or crane maintenance is preferred. The role calls for 5 to 10 years of experience in crane electrical maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience with OEM brands such as XCMG, SANY, Liebherr, Demag, Tadano, or similar machines will be an advantage.
Work location
The job is based in Pan India across project sites, workshops, and customer locations.
