About the role

This role is based in Tuas, Singapore, within a strategic concentrate manufacturing site that produces beverage concentrates and bases for markets across ASEAN, South Pacific, and Southwest Asia. The plant is in an expansion and digital transformation phase, with a focus on becoming a benchmark site for consumer products supply in Asia. Transport support is available from 13 MRT locations across Singapore. Due to Singapore statutory requirements, preference will be given to candidates who already have the legal right to work in Singapore and do not need visa sponsorship.

This is a fixed-term role for 12 months.

Role overview

You will be responsible for checking that ingredients, work-in-process items, and finished beverage bases meet company requirements, whether the checks happen at the plant or at supplier sites. The role also requires close adherence to Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices to support product quality and business performance.

Key responsibilities

The position involves laboratory evaluation, release activities, documentation control, and quality data handling across the production flow.

Work schedule and benefits

  • Standard weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, with overtime paid for extra hours worked
  • 5-day work week
  • Rotating shifts: morning shift from 7:30am to 4:00pm and afternoon shift from 3:30pm to midnight
  • Initial shift pattern of 8 weeks on the first shift, followed by 4 weeks on a rostered rotating shift
  • Two-way transportation support for both shift timings from 18 island-wide pickup points

Responsibilities

  • Test ingredients, work-in-process samples, and finished beverage bases using physical-chemical, microbiological, and sensory methods to confirm they meet specification and quality-system requirements.
  • Carry out approval and release steps for ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods, and ensure the related quality information is updated in SAP.
  • Verify that ingredients have all necessary supporting records such as certificates of analysis and pre-shipment approvals before final release.
  • Collect samples of ingredients, packaging materials, intermediate goods, and final products both on-site and, where needed, from external storage locations.
  • Perform calibration of laboratory instruments and analytical equipment.
  • Support testing of equipment, processes, and methods to confirm accuracy and repeatability of quality results through capability studies, control charting, method validation, and out-of-specification or out-of-trend reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records of lab procedures, process checks, and test results, while ensuring GLP is consistently followed.
  • Track chemicals, glassware, reagents, and safety data sheets, and help with purchasing laboratory supplies when needed.

Requirements

  • A diploma in Chemistry or a food-related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a quality control or laboratory operations role within a food, beverage, or pharmaceutical multinational company.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices will be an advantage.
  • Experience with Good Laboratory Practices will be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to perform analytical testing in a food industry environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP will be an advantage.
