Job description
Position Overview
This role involves overseeing juveniles under the jurisdiction of the District Court within the 27th Judicial District located in Reno County. The selected candidate will manage client contact records, obtain certification to perform risk and needs assessments, and facilitate resource referrals. Responsibilities also include submitting reports to the court and potentially providing testimony or recommendations during judicial proceedings.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions.
- Become certified and conduct risk and needs assessments for juveniles.
- Refer clients to appropriate community resources.
- Prepare and submit reports to the court system.
- Appear in court when necessary to deliver recommendations or testify on case matters.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in a social service-related discipline.
- Proficiency with computer applications is essential.
- At least one year of experience in criminal justice is preferred, with priority given to those having probation or pretrial experience.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices is advantageous.

- Strong attention to detail combined with effective organizational and time management capabilities.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing caseloads and broad knowledge of the criminal justice system.

Compensation for this position is set at an hourly wage of $29.06 according to Grade 36 standards. Benefits are available through the Kansas Judicial Branch's state employment program.
