Role overview

DHL Express is seeking a full-time Courier based at 3 Brunthill Road, Kingstown Ind Est, Carlisle, CA3 0EH. This is a permanent position offering 45 hours per week, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 18:00, including an unpaid 30-minute break.

In this role, you will represent DHL Express on a daily basis by collecting and delivering shipments to customers. The position plays an important part in creating a positive customer experience while reflecting the company’s focus on speed, enthusiasm, and dependable service.

Key duties

• Carry out shipment deliveries and collections promptly and efficiently.
• Provide a high standard of service to customers and support overall satisfaction.
• Organize and plan routes to align with customer expectations and delivery needs.
• Manage parcels and shipments carefully, following manual handling requirements.
• Follow all applicable operational rules and security processes.
• Perform daily vehicle and safety inspections and keep vehicle condition up to standard.
• Spot and report possible security concerns and business development opportunities.

• Maintain strong customer satisfaction levels.
• Complete time-critical deliveries and collections reliably.
• Show strong planning and organization in daily work.
• Adjust effectively to route changes and evolving business demands.

Experience and skills

• Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
• Good understanding of local geography and route planning.
• Capability to handle the physical nature of courier work.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience in multi-drop delivery and customer-facing work will be an advantage.
