As the head of the country operation, you will be responsible for setting direction, aligning local plans with regional and global strategy, and ensuring the business delivers strong financial and operational performance. The role also involves representing the company with customers, partners, regulators, industry bodies, and other influential stakeholders to build trust and reinforce the brand.
What You Will Do

- Build and protect a positive corporate image with customers, business partners, industry groups, trade organizations, unions, and government or regulatory stakeholders.
- Deliver the annual business plan across revenue, cash flow, profit, and service targets, and take corrective action when results fall short.
- Develop local tactical plans that support regional and global priorities while reflecting the realities of the Malawi market.
- Provide clear leadership so that strategies and goals are communicated effectively and executed well across the organization.
- Feed local market insights into regional planning and policy development.
- Drive revenue growth and market share improvement through business development initiatives.
- Keep close track of market activity and competitor moves to inform decisions and responses.

- Safeguard the company’s financial position from legal, statutory, and management perspectives.
- Strengthen liquidity through disciplined capital management and debtor control.
- Introduce and carry out corrective measures to improve service quality, transit times, and cost efficiency.
- Define the country organization structure, including roles, responsibilities, and performance objectives.
- Allocate resources effectively and ensure staff commitment toward global, regional, cluster, and country targets.
Experience and Education

Candidates must have a broad grasp of all major business functions and hands-on experience managing a full profit-and-loss operation of a similar scale. Strong commercial judgment, a clear understanding of the external economic environment, and the ability to anticipate its impact on short- and long-term planning are essential.
