About the role
Labcorp is a worldwide diagnostics and drug development company that supports healthcare providers, researchers, and patients in making better-informed decisions that can improve care and outcomes. The organization is hiring a Courier for its Dothan, Alabama location.
Work schedule
This position follows a Wednesday through Sunday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
What you will do
- Prepare the supplies needed each day for pickup routes.
- Finish the assigned pickup route within the scheduled timeframe.
- Return the day’s collected items to the branch at the end of the shift.
- Transport specimens and laboratory samples carefully and efficiently.
- Drive a company vehicle safely and follow all traffic regulations.
- Use a handheld electronic device to track and manage daily pickups.
- Coordinate with dispatch to handle extra pickup requests when required.
- Assess traffic, alternate routes, and weather to complete deliveries effectively.
Minimum qualifications
No formal education or prior experience is required.
Preferred background
- High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent credential.
- At least 1 year of experience as a driver or courier.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Additional requirements
- Strong punctuality and solid time-management habits.
- Good attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
- Ability to resolve customer problems effectively.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Applicant must be at least 21 years old.
Job details and benefits
This role involves the pickup, transport, and delivery of medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while delivering excellent customer service. A company vehicle is provided for route use, and for $125 per month there is an option to take the vehicle home for personal use. Hiring decisions are made based on skills, relevant experience, applicable education or certifications, internal equity, and market data.
Employees scheduled for 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off or flexible time off, tuition reimbursement, and the employee stock purchase plan. Employees scheduled for fewer than 20 hours, as well as casual, intern, and temporary employees, are eligible only for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all listed benefits except PTO or FTO.
