Role Overview
The Country Manager will be responsible for spearheading Notion’s growth and presence in Singapore. As a market-building leadership position, the role involves generating initial market traction, securing early key customers, and setting up scalable operational systems. This position is akin to launching a startup within Notion and entails owning the mission and revenue growth locally. The role entails managing the sales team and coordinating with marketing, customer success, professional services, and other departments to amplify impact. Reporting is to the APAC GM, with autonomy in local decisions aligned to overall company strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive all revenue activities within the Singapore market.
- Hire and mentor an effective sales team to generate pipeline and convert revenue.
- Gain deep insights into current and potential users’ workflows and needs to craft an effective market approach.
- Develop engagement within the local ecosystem through community building, startup partnerships, and strategic alliances.
- Serve as Notion’s public representative in media, events, and executive-level discussions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure customers achieve desired outcomes using Notion products.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand Notion’s regional footprint.
Candidate Profile
- Entrepreneurial drive with a founder mentality, possessing experience building market presence from scratch and thriving in ambiguous environments.
- Technical knowledge including AI fluency, capable of effectively demonstrating Notion’s products and engaging with technical stakeholders.
- Strong local connections within Singapore's startup, venture capital, media, and community networks.
- Proven ability to create sustainable partner programs rather than one-time events.
- Comfortable representing the company publicly across various platforms, credible among startup founders and enterprise executives.
- Experienced in sales leadership, with a history of building teams that consistently meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Data-driven operational mindset with skills in planning, performance analysis, and strategy execution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including over 3 years in leadership roles focused on sales, business development, or market expansion.
- Familiarity with Southeast Asian markets, especially startup to enterprise segments.
- Adaptable to fast-paced, early-stage operational environments.
- Strong empathy for clients with a passion for driving revenue growth.
- Fluency in English; additional regional languages are advantageous.
Preferred but not Mandatory
- Background in high-growth SaaS or AI companies targeting Southeast Asia.
- Proficiency in regional languages such as Mandarin or Malay.
- Experience marketing productivity, collaboration, or developer tools.
- Proven track record in community-led or product-led growth strategies.
- Curiosity and willingness to adopt AI tools to optimize work processes.
