Overview
The Country Manager leads all business operations across Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria, holding full responsibility for driving revenue growth, profitability, and excellent customer experience. This role spearheads strategic execution spanning digital innovation, retail development, people management, and operational efficiency while ensuring alignment with both regional and global business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business plans that meet revenue, market share, and profit targets.
- Identify new growth opportunities and execute sustainable customer acquisition and retention strategies.
- Keep abreast of market dynamics, competitor activities, and evolving digital commerce trends to inform strategy.
- Drive omnichannel initiatives integrating retail and digital channels to boost customer engagement.
- Manage full P&L responsibility; prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitor financial performance, and optimize costs.
- Lead investment decisions that enhance digital capabilities and support long-term growth.
- Build and nurture partnerships with customers, distributors, government agencies, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Represent the company as the senior executive in assigned countries, ensuring service excellence.
- Manage operational excellence in retail and digital channels with a focus on customer satisfaction and partnership growth.
- Translate regional directives into actionable country strategies, mitigating risks and exploring opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with regional and global teams to maintain alignment of objectives and initiatives.
- Develop market expansion and transformation plans to deepen retail and digital footprints in Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in money transfer, remittance, payments, fintech, or financial services sectors.
- Proven success driving growth in digitally enabled and retail-focused businesses, with strong commercial results.
- Demonstrated expertise managing operations across multiple countries, particularly in emerging markets.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory and cultural environments in three or more countries.
- Significant experience with digital channels, digital transformation, and omnichannel business models preferred.
- Background with digital wallets, mobile payments, or wallet-based financial products favored.
- In-depth knowledge and proven results growing business specifically in the Lebanese market.
- Excellent skills in strategic planning, negotiation, stakeholder and relationship management.
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ownership of revenue, profitability, and P&L metrics.
- Willingness and capacity to travel up to 50% across assigned territories.
