Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Country Finance Manager to lead all financial management and reporting for our German operations. The position requires strong leadership in finance, close cooperation with multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to ensure project financial performance and compliance in a diverse international setting. This role is pivotal in shaping financial strategies locally and partnering with both regional and country leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial results of projects, including profit and loss statements, cash flow, and budget comparisons, ensuring thorough analysis, transparency, and sound governance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, cash flow statements, forecasts, and other critical financial insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with technical and project teams to develop and review project budgets.
- Provide financial and commercial leadership during negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
- Maintain the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting under local laws and IFRS standards.
- Manage finance audit follow-ups by implementing and monitoring corrective measures.
- Ensure governance and compliance with local tax authorities and statutory obligations.
- Manage relationships with local banks, oversee cash management, payments, and foreign exchange exposure.
- Support financial and tax due diligence activities related to mergers, acquisitions, or disposals, offering advisory and decision support.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 10 years’ professional experience, preferably in construction and/or energy sectors.
- Expertise in accounting standards, general chart of accounts, taxation, and IFRS-based financial reporting.
- Experience in international business environments with effective collaboration across functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in MS Office is required; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, effective communication, and teamwork experience.
