About the Role
Join Howdens, the leading trade kitchen supplier in the UK, as a Counter Sales Warehouse Person based in Togher, County Cork, Ireland. This role involves being the primary contact for trade customers at the counter, providing expert advice, building relationships, and converting interactions into sales. Additionally, you will ensure the warehouse is meticulously organised, stock is safely stored, and ready for timely collection or dispatch.
Responsibilities
- Engage with trade customers to understand their requirements and provide practical product advice.
- Sell the comprehensive range of Howdens products and services while meeting and exceeding individual sales targets.
- Manage order processing, pricing quotations, and delivery scheduling efficiently.
- Proactively generate and follow up on sales leads to boost depot performance.
- Support warehouse operations including unloading shipments, stock rotation, and maintaining overall tidiness.
- Conduct daily forklift and equipment safety checks, maintain stock security, and carry out weekly stock audits.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to keep the depot environment safe and organized.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in sales, retail, or customer service roles with a focus on customer satisfaction and sales performance.
- Desirable: Valid forklift license.
- Ability to communicate confidently and build strong customer rapport.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and varied workload environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in stock handling and record keeping.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and time management skills.
- Customer-centric mindset combined with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Knowledge of stock control practices and health and safety standards.
