Role overview
This temporary, remote-eligible recruiting role focuses on hiring for veterinary healthcare teams across a growing network of facilities. The position covers the full recruiting cycle for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff, with responsibility for building pipelines, guiding leaders on hiring strategy, and improving candidate experience throughout the process.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end hiring for veterinarians, vet technicians, and support roles across multiple veterinary healthcare locations.
- Develop and keep a strong pipeline of qualified veterinary talent, including DVM candidates and seasoned veterinary technicians.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clinic and regional leaders on hiring priorities, market trends, and sourcing approaches tailored to veterinary healthcare.
- Create and run targeted sourcing plans using professional networks, veterinary schools, licensing boards, industry groups, and similar specialist channels.
- Evaluate candidates through screening and interviews to assess clinical suitability, credentials, and cultural fit.
- Arrange onsite interviews and facility walkthroughs with hiring managers and clinic leadership.
- Facilitate candidate debriefs with veterinary directors and hiring managers, contributing input that helps shape offer decisions and secure strong hires.
- Ensure a positive candidate journey from application to onboarding through prompt communication, credential checks, and respectful decline handling.
- Follow recruiting policies and procedures while maintaining accurate and reliable data in recruiting systems.
- Keep team and individual trackers current, prepare reports, and share regular updates with stakeholders and clinic leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on recruiting experience focused on veterinarians, veterinary technicians, or other healthcare professionals.
- Proven ability to build collaborative, consultative relationships with hiring managers, clinic directors, and senior leaders.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary credentials, licensing rules, and the veterinary technician certification environment.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and effective at managing time and priorities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-growth setting with urgency and a proactive mindset.
- Experience sourcing candidates through multiple channels such as the web, social platforms, professional networks, and veterinary associations.
- Open to candidates from either corporate recruiting or agency recruiting backgrounds.
