Role overview
MSI Express is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Recruiter to support its Talent Acquisition function in St. Charles, Illinois. In this role, you will partner with department leaders to understand hiring needs, build effective sourcing approaches, and help bring in strong talent across both production and corporate openings. You will manage the recruitment process from first contact through offer stage, with an emphasis on creating a smooth and positive experience for candidates while supporting the company’s mission of producing high-quality, innovative food products for major CPG companies and entrepreneurial partners across its manufacturing network.
Key responsibilities
- Use multiple sourcing channels such as professional networks, job boards, referrals, and recruiting tools to find candidates for salary-based positions across several manufacturing sites.
- Review applications carefully, assess candidate fit against role requirements, and conduct initial interviews to evaluate experience, capabilities, and alignment with the organization.
- Share well-prepared candidate summaries with hiring managers, including background details, qualifications, and interview observations.
- Work closely with hiring managers to clarify role expectations, team environment, and site-specific hiring needs so that candidate matches are strong and relevant.
- Support offer creation and extension, making sure compensation, benefits, and employment terms are communicated clearly to applicants.
- Monitor recruiting activity and keep the TA team and hiring managers updated on pipeline progress, interview stages, and time-to-fill performance.
- Maintain respectful and professional communication with candidates throughout the process so they have a positive experience regardless of outcome.
- Keep recruiting actions aligned with company policies and legal standards, while maintaining accurate documentation and preparing reports as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 2 to 3 years of recruiting experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting or supporting salaried positions.
- Strong capability in attracting and engaging candidates through different sourcing methods and recruiting techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Helpful knowledge of manufacturing operations and common job types in that environment.
- Good understanding of salary-market trends and compensation structures.
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several open roles at once.
- Hands-on experience with ATS platforms, MS Office, and online recruiting job boards; Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field is preferred.
