Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Core Banking Technical Consultant specializing in Finastra’s Equation platform to lead system improvements, implementations, and continuous support efforts. This position involves close cooperation with business divisions, IT teams, and external partners to optimize and maintain a scalable core banking environment compliant with current business and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage configuration, upkeep, and performance monitoring of Finastra Equation modules such as lending, deposits, payments, treasury, and trade finance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business needs, conduct gap analysis, and design technical solutions accordingly.
- Adapt and enhance system features to facilitate product innovation and operational efficiencies.
- Deliver expert-level support in incident resolution, troubleshooting, and root cause determination.
- Lead or participate in system upgrades, data transfers, and integration with other banking systems or third-party software.
- Support compliance activities including regulatory reporting and audit assistance.
- Work closely with IT, operations, and business units to ensure successful project delivery from start to finish.
- Conduct user acceptance tests, prepare related documentation, and provide training to users and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience with the Finastra Equation core banking system in either a technical or techno-functional role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking processes across retail, corporate, and treasury sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in deploying, upgrading, or supporting banking systems in production environments.
- Technical skills in IBM iSeries (AS/400) including programming with COBOL, RPG, CL, and managing DB2 databases.
- Understanding of system integration practices including APIs and middleware within the banking context.
- Strong analytical mindset, problem solver, and excellent communicator.
- Certifications related to banking systems or Finastra products are desirable.
- Familiarity with other Finastra products such as Fusion Equation, Essence, or Digital Banking and knowledge of regulations like Basel, IFRS, and AML/KYC is an advantage.
