Job description
Role Overview
This position involves supporting the competent authority's duties related to Exchange of Information on Request (EOIR), Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI), and cooperation under tax treaties. The specialist will handle processing of both incoming and outgoing information requests, ensuring compliance with international standards, local laws, and established procedures.
Primary Duties
- Receive, assess, and manage Exchange of Information (EOI) requests from foreign tax authorities based on tax treaties, Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEAs), and multilateral accords.
- Perform initial validation of these requests to confirm they meet legal and procedural criteria, such as relevance, scope, and confidentiality requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and local authorities to gather essential information within mandated deadlines.
- Draft response documents and supporting materials for review and authorization.
- Maintain precise case records, audit trails, and compilation of statistics for reporting.
- Assist with operational tasks connected to EOIR and other EOI-related activities as necessary.
- Comply rigorously with confidentiality standards, data protection laws, and information security protocols.
- Contribute to key performance indicators including turnaround times and quality benchmarks.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- At least two years of professional experience in tax administration, international taxation, regulatory compliance, financial services, or a similar field.
- Experience or familiarity with tax treaties, information exchange mechanisms, or regulatory reporting is preferred.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Taxation, Economics, Finance, or related areas.
- Professional certifications in tax or accounting are considered advantageous.
- Strong skills in analysis, organization, and formal written communication.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data while working under tight deadlines.
