Role Overview

Townsville City Council invites applications for a permanent full-time Coordinator Regulation position within the Planning, Environment & Lifestyle division, specifically in the Environmental Health & Regulation team. This role is based in Townsville and offers a nine-day fortnight work arrangement totaling 36.25 hours per week, with a salary ranging from $113,019 to $119,946 annually plus superannuation, reflecting skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed Coordinator will lead the Environmental Health & Regulation team, driving significant programmatic change aimed at enhancing customer-focused service delivery and deepening community engagement within the Community Environment and Lifestyle Division. Responsibilities include providing authoritative advice on policies, legislation, permit applications, prosecutions, and penalty infringement notices (PIN) reconsiderations. Additionally, the role involves formulating and reviewing policies, operational procedures and ensuring these meet legislative standards while addressing community expectations.

Candidate Profile

Preferred candidates will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in fields such as investigatory services, regulatory affairs, business, or emergency management. Strong communication capabilities in developing comprehensive reports, strategies, and policies are essential. Candidates must exhibit excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative competencies, with proven skills to develop, execute, and oversee operational strategies.
