Job description

Role Overview

The Onshore Emergency Coordinator is tasked with designing, executing, and enhancing emergency preparedness and response frameworks tailored for onshore activities. Collaborating with leadership, operational teams, emergency responders, government bodies, and third parties ensures readiness against potential operational crises. The job centers on minimizing incident risk and impact, safeguarding personnel and assets, sustaining effective emergency communication, and aligning response protocols with relevant laws, international norms, and best management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and update Emergency Response Plans, procedures, and Incident Command System (ICS) frameworks.
  • Lead coordination efforts during major or complex emergencies.
  • Offer expert guidance to management and Incident Commanders during incidents.
  • Organize and execute emergency drills, training sessions, and practice exercises.
  • Work alongside government agencies, emergency services, and external stakeholders for coordinated response efforts.
  • Evaluate emergency scenarios for vulnerabilities and champion ongoing enhancements.
  • Guarantee that emergency response tools, equipment, and resources are operational and available.
  • Maintain adherence to applicable legal and international standards governing emergency management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 8 years of pertinent experience, ideally within oil and gas or other high-hazard sectors.
  • Deep understanding of Emergency Management principles and Incident Command System (ICS) application.
  • Proven track record in emergency planning, incident handling, executing drills, and liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity, effective communication, sound decision-making, and strong influencing abilities.
