Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description

The Coordinator of Volunteers position is a part-time remote role focused on organizing and supporting volunteers at TorobJoo. Responsibilities include recruiting and onboarding new volunteers, managing their schedules, and ensuring volunteers understand their roles and opportunities. The coordinator will also create and deliver training programs, maintain effective communication channels, and address volunteer inquiries and feedback.

This role requires collaboration with program leaders to assess volunteer requirements, monitor volunteer participation and attendance, and acknowledge their contributions. Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to community outreach efforts by promoting volunteer initiatives and fostering partnerships with community organizations and groups.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in volunteer management and training essential for recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and supporting volunteers effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to establish trust, clearly convey information, and address concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Experience in community outreach to engage diverse groups, build partnerships, and advertise volunteer opportunities.
• Organizational skills, time-management capabilities, a keen eye for detail, and proficiency with remote collaboration technologies such as email, video conferencing, and shared document platforms.
• Prior experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit or community program work, and knowledge of inclusive and equitable engagement practices preferred.
