Job description

About the Company

Canva is building a new way for people everywhere to experience design, with a global team and a growing US presence. The company operates from its Sydney headquarters and US hubs in Austin and San Francisco.

About the Role

The Commercial Legal team at Canva is looking for a Contracts Manager to support Enterprise sales, Canva for Education, and Procurement by handling contracts end to end. The role sits within a team of ten and will evolve as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and negotiate customer and supplier agreements while making sure terms align with company policies, legal standards, and accepted industry practice.
  • Work closely with internal teams to collect the information needed to resolve contract issues and provide practical guidance that reflects business risk, deal structure, and internal rules.
  • Keep an organized contract record that tracks important terms, commitments, and obligations.
  • Suggest and help implement improvements to templates, workflows, and contracting tools so the process becomes faster, more effective, and easier to scale.
  • Run training for legal colleagues and business partners on the tools and processes used in contracting, helping teams work more independently on routine commercial matters.
  • Support ongoing upkeep and improvement of AI tools used throughout the contract lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background negotiating SaaS contracts at high volume in support of sales teams, along with experience reviewing vendor agreements.
  • Hands-on experience with Ironclad, Salesforce, and AI-based tools for contract review and administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Comfort working proactively to learn the business and identify both opportunities and risks.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented mindset with sound risk judgment.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with a positive and collegial working style.
  • Confidence in live negotiations with customers and vendors.
  • Ability to prioritize competing work, manage expectations, and adapt quickly to changing business needs.

Compensation and Benefits

The target annual salary for this role is between $107,000 and $155,000. Pay decisions are based on market data, skills, experience, and internal equity.

Benefits include equity, health coverage, a 401(k) with company contribution, parental leave for all parents and carers, an annual Vibe & Thrive allowance for wellbeing, social connection, office setup and more, plus flexible leave options.

Additional Information

Canva considers experience, skills, and passion when hiring, along with the ways a candidate may contribute to the company and its culture. Applicants should share their pronouns and any reasonable interview accommodations they may need. Interviews are held virtually.
