What the role will involve
- Own and steer communications activity across France, Germany, and Spain, setting priorities and shaping the narrative around product, technology, corporate, and consumer updates.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media contacts in these markets so Canva stays visible and relevant in everyday coverage.
- Manage external agency partners in Germany and Spain, reviewing their work, giving direction, and ensuring their output supports awareness, trust, and growth.
- Help build a strong group of local spokespeople and prepare Canva leaders for interviews, briefings, and public events.
- Work closely with sales, growth, and partnerships teams to make sure communications efforts support wider business goals.
- Act as the link between global and local communications teams, making sure the company story stays aligned, locally meaningful, and consistently active throughout the year.
What they are looking for
- Substantial communications experience across European markets, ideally including France, Germany, and Spain, with evidence of securing strong coverage and handling local agency relationships.
- Well-developed media relations capability and an existing network of journalist contacts, with confidence engaging senior editors, reporters, and industry voices.
- Hands-on experience planning and delivering integrated communications campaigns spanning product, corporate, executive, and consumer storytelling.
- Strong background in B2B and AI communications, with the ability to turn complex subjects into clear, locally relevant messages.
- Comfort working across several markets at once while managing competing priorities and keeping sight of the broader strategy.
- Self-starter attitude with a high level of ownership, speed, and comfort operating in fast-changing, less-defined environments.
- French language skills are strongly preferred; German or Spanish would be beneficial.
