Job Overview

The Contracts Management Specialist will manage the end-to-end contractual lifecycle for agreements involving customers, suppliers, and partners, ensuring compliance with Pakistan's legal and regulatory framework. This role encompasses contract review, risk evaluation, compliance oversight, and providing contractual support to various internal teams such as business development, project delivery, finance, and legal departments. The specialist is responsible for accurately identifying and managing contractual risks, obligations, and commercial factors in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and negotiate customer requests for quotations (RFQs), requests for proposals (RFPs), tenders, contracts, amendments, purchase orders, and related commercial paperwork.
  • Identify potential contractual, commercial, financial, and operational risks in agreements with customers and suppliers.
  • Draft, review, and maintain diverse contract types including customer contracts, NDAs, teaming agreements, MOUs, subcontracts, service agreements, framework agreements, and consultancy contracts.
  • Ensure proper contract execution, documentation, and archiving within company systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract databases, trackers, and repositories.
  • Support bid teams during tender preparation by evaluating contractual requirements and noting deviations from standard terms.
  • Assist in drafting contractual exceptions, qualifying statements, and risk registers.
  • Collaborate with business development, finance, operations, and technical teams to integrate contractual needs accurately into proposals.
  • Participate in bid review sessions to offer contractual insights.
  • Oversee contract execution by monitoring milestones, deliverables, obligations, warranties, and key commercial terms.
  • Support project teams in comprehending contractual duties and responsibilities.
  • Track compliance of customers and suppliers with their contractual commitments.
  • Manage contract amendments, variations, extensions, and change requests effectively.
  • Keep records of all contractual correspondence and formal communications.
  • Perform initial contract risk assessments and escalate significant issues to regional legal and contract teams.
  • Maintain and update contract risk registers alongside mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor exposure in areas such as payment terms, liquidated damages, performance guarantees, warranty obligations, intellectual property rights, confidentiality, and liability clauses.
  • Communicate identified risks clearly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing contractual notices, claims, and related documentation.
  • Help project teams gather necessary evidence and records for claims.
  • Monitor claim deadlines and notification requirements to safeguard contractual rights.
  • Document dispute, claim, and commercial correspondence records.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including sales, bid management, project management, finance, procurement, and operations to resolve contractual issues efficiently.
  • Engage with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners on contractual matters to ensure smooth business relations.
  • Compile periodic reports detailing contract statuses, risks, claims, amendments, and compliance updates.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of contract management processes, templates, and procedures.
  • Promote contract management best practices and commercial awareness throughout the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in Law or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in Contract Management or Commercial Management are advantageous.
  • Have between 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in contract management, legal support, bid management, or related fields.
  • Experience within sectors such as government, defense, aerospace, engineering, technology, or project-driven businesses is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability in reviewing and managing customer and supplier contracts.
  • Familiarity with public procurement and tendering processes is a plus.
