This position is for a Contracts Lead based in Doha, Qatar. The role sits within the energy, process, and infrastructure sector and focuses on handling significant contract claims and disputes linked to offshore contractors and long-lead item suppliers.

Purpose of the role
The Contracts Lead will take ownership of reviewing, negotiating, and closing major contractual claims while safeguarding the company’s interests. The role also supports dispute resolution and ensures actions remain aligned with project controls and governance expectations.
Key responsibilities
The incumbent will assess claims, lead negotiations, and work toward practical settlement of disputes involving offshore contractors and LLI suppliers. The role requires coordination of legal and contractual matters, support across mediation, arbitration, and litigation activities, and careful preparation of dispute-related documentation.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as business, engineering, law, or supply chain is required. Candidates should bring at least 8 years of experience in a business-related role, including 4+ years in oil and gas and 1+ year in a supervisory or contractor oversight position. Experience in EPCI contract administration and claims handling on offshore, large-scale projects is necessary. A track record of resolving disputes amicably is important, along with exposure to mediation, arbitration, and litigation processes. Familiarity with Middle Eastern legal frameworks is preferred.
Skills needed
The role calls for strong English communication, confident negotiation, interpersonal skills, and a solution-oriented approach. Applicants should be detail-focused, capable of preparing reports accurately, comfortable working with computers, and ideally familiar with Primavera P6. Practical knowledge of dispute handling processes such as Redfern Schedules, statements of case and defence, discovery, witness preparation, and legal coordination is also expected.
