Job description

About the Role

Join Azonic as a part-time content writer focusing on OSINT and online crime topics, working onsite in Auckland. You will contribute several brief, well-sourced posts weekly highlighting noteworthy developments in the fast-evolving online crime landscape, crafted to be valuable and shareable among analysts.

About Azonic

Azonic develops a comprehensive intelligence platform designed to support law enforcement and intelligence agencies in online crime investigations. Combining open-source intelligence, proprietary data, and third-party tools, its platform automates investigative workflows under strict agency control. Headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, Azonic is currently in private beta with select agencies across the Five Eyes alliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create two to three insightful posts each week on topics like OSINT tradecraft innovations, notable indictments, takedowns, or criminal ecosystem changes.
  • Consume and analyze materials such as indictments, court files, platform transparency reports, and threat intelligence publications to identify content worth sharing.
  • Engage with relevant professional discussions on social media platforms respectfully and avoid political or negative commentary.
  • Submit drafts for review by a founder; understand that some content may be rejected as part of the editorial process.
  • Maintain an ongoing list of subjects to explore and communicate from publicly available information.

Candidate Profile

  • A genuine interest in threat intelligence, OSINT community topics, and significant online crime events is essential, whether currently involved or aspiring to learn.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely, backing claims with references, and avoiding unsupported adjectives.
  • Strong discretion is required to adhere to rules about sensitive content, without frustration over restrictions.
  • Preferred, though not mandatory, experience includes time in threat intelligence, security reporting, investigative research, or writing under editorial guidance for professional audiences.

Additional Information

The subject matter may be disturbing, as it covers serious online crimes sourced strictly from public records. Content is factual and avoids victim specifics, relying on numbers and evidence. Azonic is a pre-seed stage company with modest social media followings, so expect few immediate demands but high standards. Time commitment is a few hours weekly with an emphasis on quality and a collaborative review process.
