Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
This position is part of a two-year Operations Excellence Program within the Operations Practice. The role is based in one of the company’s European offices and involves client-facing consulting work focused on helping organisations improve operational performance. Consultants in this program work on engagements in the same way as other consultants, combining strategic thinking with practical execution.
Who you'll work with
You will join a high-performance environment where people are expected to tackle difficult problems, recover quickly from setbacks, and keep pushing toward better solutions. The culture is built around learning, coaching, and mentorship, with colleagues at all levels investing in your growth while delivering strong results for clients.
The role offers continuous development through structured learning, apprenticeship, and feedback that is intended to be actionable and growth-oriented. Your ideas are expected to matter from the start, and diverse viewpoints are treated as an important part of reaching strong outcomes. You will also work within a global community spanning more than 65 countries and over 100 nationalities.
A competitive salary is offered, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of you and your family.
What you'll do
In this role, you will contribute directly to client problem solving by identifying issues, developing hypotheses, performing analyses, and turning findings into clear recommendations. You will build operations and consulting capabilities primarily through on-the-job coaching, supported by a structured program designed to strengthen your skills.
During your first years with the firm, you will work on multiple client engagements across different industries and operations service lines. You will gain the knowledge and expertise needed to help organisations improve operational excellence. The program also includes dedicated functional training and knowledge development led by operations experts.
Training follows a curriculum centered on operations excellence themes, with advanced learning in one of six specialisms: manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, supply chain management, or capital excellence. Successful completion of the program can lead to placement in the global network of operational excellence experts.
Application notes
Applications must be submitted in English and include a CV plus transcripts from all relevant education, including high school and university, with grades shown.
Qualifications and skills
The role requires a master’s degree together with outstanding academic performance. Candidates should already have some exposure to an operational area such as lean manufacturing, lean services, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, process optimisation, product development, or purchasing.
Applicants should demonstrate leadership experience, either at work or through extracurricular involvement. They must also be willing to travel or take on assignments across Europe during the working week. Strong analytical ability, quantitative problem solving, and the capacity to explain complex ideas clearly in both spoken and written English, as well as the local office language, are essential.
