Role Overview

Cental is looking for a Fabricator to cut, shape, assemble, and weld metal parts used in the production of high-quality steel structures, frames, and modular components. The role requires working from engineering drawings, meeting quality expectations, and following safety requirements in a high-volume, fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans accurately.
  • Carry out fabrication work using cutting, grinding, drilling, forming, and welding techniques.
  • Build structural parts to the correct measurements and tolerances.
  • Use workshop equipment and tools such as MIG/Stick welders, plasma cutters, band saws, chop saws, press brakes, rollers, grinders, and other power tools.
  • Prepare welds properly, finish components, and complete quality inspections.
  • Confirm that welds comply with internal standards and any applicable codes.
  • Check completed items for flaws, variation, or defects.
  • Perform rework when needed to bring products back to specification.
  • Follow quality systems, ISO requirements, and project-specific standards.
  • Comply with all company health and safety rules, including PPE requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and assembly colleagues.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Fabricator in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Ability to understand and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings.
  • Practical MIG welding experience.
  • Comfortable with measuring, marking out, and maintaining close tolerances.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication tools and machinery.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and product quality.
  • Capable of working alone as well as contributing effectively to a team.
