Consultant - Core Banking Operations Specialist with Temenos T24 and Islamic Banking Expertise

Position Overview

This role calls for a seasoned Domain Consultant with over ten years of extensive experience in banking, particularly with Temenos T24 (Temenos Transact) and core banking operations. Expertise in Islamic banking products and their compliant operational processes is essential. The consultant will serve as a critical liaison between business teams and delivery units, offering functional insights, assisting with testing phases, and steering the banking domain aspects of implementation and transformation assignments.

Primary Duties

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Temenos T24 / Temenos Transact implementations.
• Translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications, including authoring and reviewing BRDs, FRDs, and test documentation.
• Offer domain guidance to development, testing, and business teams ensuring accuracy of banking workflows.
• Validate and oversee banking processes such as account opening, lending cycles, payments, and customer management.
• Conduct domain workshops and facilitate knowledge transfer initiatives amongst stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Engage collaboratively with SMEs, implementation partners, and vendors within Agile and Waterfall project frameworks.

Specialized Expertise in Islamic Banking

• Thorough understanding of Islamic finance instruments including Murabaha, Ijara, Musharaka, Mudaraba, Wakala, Istisna, and Sukuk.
• Ensure all banking operations comply with Shariah law within T24 modules.
• Partner with business units to configure products and manage compliance requirements effectively.

Functional Domain and Technical Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of Temenos banking modules: Arrangement Architecture (AA), Lending (LD), Funds Transfer (FT), Account management, Customer management, and Islamic Banking modules.
• Familiarity with payment messaging standards and integrations such as SWIFT MT103/MT202, ISO 20022 formats (PACS.008 / PACS.009), RTGS, and ACH.
• Proficiency in reviewing and supporting system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect management.
• Experience with tools like JIRA, Zephyr, HP ALM/QC, and SQL databases (Oracle/MS SQL).

Qualifications and Preferred Abilities

• Over 10 years of substantial banking domain experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ direct involvement with Temenos T24 / Temenos Transact projects including implementations, upgrades, migrations, or transformation initiatives.
• Deep functional understanding of core banking operations and comprehensive knowledge in documentation preparation such as BRDs, FRDs, FSDs, and UAT artifacts.
• Preferred skills include experience with Temenos Infinity, Temenos Payments Hub, SWIFT MT/MX and ISO 20022 messaging, Agile, Scrum, BDD methodologies, and knowledge of GCC/MENA region banking regulations such as SAMA, CBUAE, QCB, and CBB Bahrain.
• Relevant certifications such as CAIIB, ISTQB, or CDCS add an advantage.
