Position Overview
Environment Canterbury seeks a dedicated Consents Support Officer to join its Christchurch team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This role is integral to the administrative functioning of the Consents Planning team, providing crucial support that ensures timely and compliant processing of resource consent applications. It offers an opportunity to contribute towards protecting Canterbury's natural environment within a collaborative and supportive workplace.

As a regional council, Environment Canterbury manages vital resources including air, soil, water, and land, in partnership with mana whenua Ngāi Tahu. Key Duties
- Provide administrative assistance to resource consent planners.
- Maintain precise regulatory records, databases, and reporting systems.
- Oversee documentation flow and team workflows to meet required timeframes.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues with a strong customer service orientation.

Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a professional, customer-oriented administrative or support role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and capability in handling complex information accurately.
- Proficient written and spoken communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office and comfort with databases and other relevant systems.
- Demonstrated success in accuracy and organizational roles.
- Familiarity or experience with resource management legislation is advantageous.
