Pullman Adelaide is a luxury five-star hotel located centrally within Adelaide's CBD, featuring 308 rooms, a ground-floor restaurant offering buffet breakfast, bar lunch, and evening à la carte menus, a sophisticated bar focused on premium local beverages, in-room dining, and a recently renovated conference floor with city and hill views. This role provides an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to the ongoing success and enhancements of the conference and events venues.

Role Summary

The Conference & Events Operations Manager will report to the Food & Beverage Manager, playing a pivotal role in overseeing the strategic and operational functioning of all conferencing and events activities. This hands-on manager will collaborate closely with the Sales and Marketing teams as well as external suppliers and contractors to ensure exceptional service, efficient event execution, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct operational management of conference and event facilities, ensuring smooth execution and superior guest satisfaction.
• Lead and supervise staff involved in events and food & beverage service to maintain high-quality standards.
• Serve as the point of contact for guests, addressing queries and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
• Manage event-related accounts, budgeting, and ensure cost controls are adhered to.
• Coordinate equipment needs and maintain efficient resource management.
• Support revenue generation initiatives through operational excellence and customer service.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable high attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Proven experience in managing teams in a senior role such as F&B Duty Manager or Venue Manager.
• Hold a Responsible Person’s Badge and a valid RSA certification in South Australia.
• Ability to provide an Australian police clearance; a working with vulnerable person clearance is advantageous.
• Experience in banquets, events, and restaurant service environments is beneficial.
• A strong commitment to exceeding customer expectations and passion for top-quality service delivery.
• Flexibility to work varied hours to support event management from initiation to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop diverse teams, including scheduling and performance evaluation.
• Exemplary grooming and professional presentation standards.
• Proficiency with computer systems including POS software such as MICROS, Opera Cloud, and Time Attendance platforms like ReadyWorkforce is preferred.
• Must have full-time working rights in Australia.
