The Compliance Department
The Compliance team at Gemini focuses on the next wave of financial crime prevention within a dynamic regulatory landscape. It comprises professionals from technology, legal, compliance, and operations backgrounds who innovate solutions for traditional compliance challenges, leveraging advanced tools and modern methodologies.
Position Overview
This role entails joining the Investigations team under Compliance, which is responsible for critical evaluation and management of potential financial crime. Key duties include conducting in-depth analysis and adjudication of escalated alerts and cases, preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and supporting the development and enhancement of compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine customer activities thoroughly to evaluate if they require escalation or reporting under relevant AML regulations.
- Compose and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in line with regulatory standards.
- Utilize blockchain analytics tools to perform in-depth reviews of customer transactions, including direct and indirect involvement.
- Analyze various customer data sources, such as IP addresses, devices, open source intelligence, transaction logs, customer identification, and source of wealth documentation.
- Communicate with customers to obtain necessary clarifications or additional information regarding their activities.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent international credential.
- Between one and two years of relevant experience in financial services, law enforcement, digital assets, or consulting related to financial crime or compliance.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrencies, digital transaction workflows, and blockchain tracing or analytic software.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to AML/BSA and sanctions compliance.
- Proficiency with technology platforms, including case management and web-based information systems.
- Competency in Google Suite tools such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate findings to senior leadership.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced educational degrees or certifications such as JD, CAMS, or CFE.
- Advanced skills using blockchain analytical and exploratory tools.
- Adaptability to rapidly evolving regulatory and commercial environments.

- Competitive base salary ranging from $67,500 to $90,000 annually (exclusive of bonuses and equity awards), dependent on experience and role scope.
