Role Overview
The Compensation & Benefits Business Partner for the Asia Pacific region serves as an individual contributor responsible for supporting comprehensive Performance & Reward Programs and implementing effective reward strategies throughout APAC, with a strong emphasis on Singapore and Malaysia markets.
This position plays a hands-on strategic role, advising, developing, and delivering innovative and aligned performance and total reward frameworks designed to attract, retain, and engage employees effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and advance total reward and performance initiatives that align with business needs and adapt to evolving employee requirements across service lines and countries.
- Design competitive compensation structures, including allowances, compliant with the Global Job Architecture framework.
- Coordinate the Annual Performance and Compensation Review process across the Asia Pacific region.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing consulting support on performance and reward best practices to business leaders and HR Business Partners.
- Manage end-to-end project execution of compensation and benefits initiatives ensuring timely delivery, adherence to governance, stakeholder engagement, and progress monitoring.
- Engage with senior executives and various teams across global and regional organization units to advise and align performance and reward strategies, securing buy-in and sustaining business success.
- Ensure effective communication of employee incentives and deliver ongoing education on reward and performance programs to optimize understanding and perceived value among employees and managers.
- Conduct compensation and benefits analyses, including participation in salary and benefit market surveys to benchmark and adjust pay bands and programs as required.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of variable compensation plans, including sales incentives, improve policies supporting future workplace needs, and facilitate modeling for M&A and strategic hiring activities.
- Support ad-hoc projects providing expertise when needed.
Required Expertise and Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of performance and total rewards covering compensation strategy, job architecture, benefits design, pay-for-performance culture, short-term incentives, executive pay, performance management, and change management.
- Strong commercial insight with the ability to effectively position pay and performance philosophies.
- Keen awareness of market trends and economic conditions affecting reward program design, capable of identifying opportunities or gaps.
- Strategic thinker able to quickly analyze business drivers and implement appropriate workforce reward solutions timely.
- Experienced project manager adept at comprehensive program delivery in complex multinational, matrixed environments.
- Exceptional leadership and change management skills, including virtual leadership and the ability to influence and build relationships across dispersed teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with capacity to engage stakeholders across multiple levels and regions.
- Ability to translate complex compensation structures into easily understandable information for business partners.
- Highly effective under pressure with strong prioritization, attention to detail, adaptability, and personal integrity relating to confidential data.
- Strong analytical, statistical, written, verbal, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Human Resources, Compensation, and/or consulting fields.
- Proven record in managing regional compensation and benefits initiatives, fostering a skilled and diverse workforce culture.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees such as MBA or Master’s in business, finance, or human resources are preferred.
- Hands-on experience in compensation and benefits program planning, administration, research, and design.
- Skilled at translating business requirements into functional compensation solutions with a record of executing large multinational projects.
- Deep understanding of Asia Pacific regulatory landscape, especially Singapore and Malaysia, and regional diversity in business environments.
- Proficiency with WorkDay for managing compensation and performance activities along with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communicator with personal presence and leadership capacity to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
