Role Overview

We seek a highly organized and thoughtful Community Manager to oversee our social media presence. This individual will play a vital role in shaping public perception by managing daily interactions across platforms, creating genuine social-first content, supporting influencer collaborations, and cultivating a highly engaged community within the beauty space.

Representing a notable founder and celebrity-endorsed brand requires exceptional judgment, discretion, and empathetic communication to professionally handle nuanced situations.

Community management is a continuous responsibility, including monitoring social channels during weekends. While not all out-of-hours messages require response, sound judgment and timely escalation of urgent matters are essential to maintaining community support.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and respond to comments and direct messages across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and additional channels.
• Promote a warm, engaging, and premium brand atmosphere through community interactions.
• Collaborate closely with Customer Experience teams to ensure prompt and efficient responses to enquiries and issues.
• Identify moments to delight community members via authentic engagement.
• Track brand mentions, creator content, and cultural trends to spot emerging opportunities and feedback.
• Apply sound judgment to decide when to engage, escalate, or refrain from responding to conversations.
• Elevate sensitive matters such as legal, safety, misinformation, media inquiries, or crisis situations appropriately.
• Enforce community guidelines by removing spam and inappropriate posts.
• Provide reports on community sentiment and trends to inform marketing, product development, and customer experience strategies.
• Schedule and publish content across social channels, and generate social-first media using an iPhone capturing behind-the-scenes, culture, and product-related moments.
• Edit Instagram Stories, Reels, and TikTok videos optimized per platform standards, occasionally appearing on camera.
• Manage influencer and creator relations including coordinating gifting, campaign logistics, product distribution, and inventory.
• Tag products, collaborators, and creators within social posts; maintain publishing calendars and organize creative assets.
• Support cross-departmental marketing efforts ensuring accurate and timely content delivery.

Candidate Profile

• 2 to 5 years of experience in community management, social media, or content development roles.
• Exceptional writing skills and a strong sense of brand voice.
• Excellent judgment paired with emotional intelligence.
• Empathetic and capable of managing diverse consumer interactions thoughtfully.
• Well-versed in community moderation principles.
• Proficient with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and current internet culture.
• Experienced filming and editing short-form videos using iPhone and editing apps such as CapCut.
• Highly organized with rigorous attention to detail.
• Adaptable to a fast-moving startup environment with shifting priorities.
• Passion for beauty, fashion, culture, and consumer brands.
• Preferred experience with founder-led or celebrity-backed brands, community management or scheduling tools, and influencer partnership support.

Work Location and Schedule

This hybrid position is based in Boston, requiring presence in the office three days weekly to foster collaboration and creativity.

Compensation

The salary range is $70,000 to $90,000 USD annually, dependent on experience.
