Overview
Electronic Arts (EA) invites applications for the role of Community Manager dedicated to The Sims franchise for the German-speaking region (Germany, Switzerland, Austria). This essential position focuses on fostering strong community engagement, building connections with players, and cultivating a positive atmosphere for The Sims audience throughout GSA markets.
Team and Role Context
The role exists within EA's Global Integrated Communications team, responsible for authentic storytelling and community connectivity worldwide through various platforms. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Community, the Community Manager will architect and implement localized engagement strategies, amplifying The Sims’ presence and ensuring the voice of GSA players is integrated into broader franchise decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand The Sims’ visibility and involvement across key community environments such as Discord, forums, Reddit, Steam, and other relevant platforms targeting GSA users.
- Develop and nurture relationships with community members including players, content creators, moderators, and community leaders to enhance engagement and player advocacy.
- Adapt global content and campaigns into culturally relevant activations suited for the GSA audience, collaborating cross-functionally with teams in Integrated Communications, Marketing, Creator Relations, and Development.
- Organize and lead localized community initiatives including programs and events that promote active participation and a welcoming player experience.
- Oversee monitoring of community sentiment and trends, collecting player feedback and translating insights into actionable recommendations for product and communication teams.
- Act as the primary advocate for GSA player interests throughout all phases of the product lifecycle, identifying risks and opportunities within the community.
- Analyze and report on metrics related to community health, engagement, sentiment, and activity to help guide future community strategies.
- Support and align localized social media efforts and content amplification strategies with global communication objectives.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of three years’ experience working in community management, player engagement, social media, communications, or a similar discipline.
- Proven expertise managing online communities on platforms like Discord, Reddit, Steam, forums, or social networks.
- Deep understanding of gaming culture within the GSA region, including player behaviors and community dynamics.
- Competence in analyzing and communicating community insights to influence organizational decision-making.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in German (native level) and English.
- Strong interpersonal skills capable of developing meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders such as players, creators, moderators, and international teams.
- Experience using social listening tools, analytics platforms, or reporting software to monitor community performance and sentiment.
- Passionate about gaming and committed to fostering player-first community engagement.
