About the Role
This role involves leading communications efforts for YouTube's advertising products within Google's Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) team. You will play a key part in crafting compelling narratives and media strategies that highlight the value and innovation of YouTube's ads offerings to users, advertisers, and industry stakeholders. The position demands creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while collaborating across teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product and business teams to develop engaging, persuasive brand stories.
- Create targeted media plans and positioning strategies for various YouTube ads products tailored to diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Build and maintain influential relationships with trade media representatives, key opinion leaders, and industry influencers.
- Produce a variety of communication materials including blog articles, talking points, Q&As, and social media content.
- Prepare and coach company leadership for prominent media and press engagements to ensure impactful messaging.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- At least seven years of experience in public relations, media relations, or internal/executive communications related to technology products or services.
- Knowledge of the digital advertising and streaming industry and established media connections are preferred.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and creatively to resolve challenges.
- Strong capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Skill in translating complex product launches into clear narratives suitable for business and trade press media outlets.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
