Job description
About the role
One Thousand is looking for a Communications & Brand Lead to sharpen and scale the company’s public narrative. The role sits at the intersection of brand strategy, leadership messaging, media visibility, and hands-on execution. The goal is to make the company’s AI story clearer, stronger, and more influential across pitches, publications, social channels, and everyday conversations.
The company describes itself as a leading AI builder in Germany, delivering real breakthroughs for large enterprises, hidden champions, international NGOs, and the public sector. It has also recently won first place in the WirtschaftsWoche Best of Consulting ranking in the Data & AI category. Despite that track record, the company believes it has not communicated its story loudly enough yet, and this role is meant to change that.
What you will do
- Shape the central brand story so it is consistently reflected in pitches, posts, conversations, and external communication.
- Work closely with founder Tim as a sparring partner on positioning, narrative direction, and editorial decisions.
- Co-develop articles, commentary, and other thought-leadership pieces with the founder for leading media outlets and social platforms.
- Manage external agencies with a clear sense of priorities, timing, and value creation.
- Build and communicate the story of a company working at the cutting edge of what AI can deliver in Europe.
What the company is looking for
- Proven experience building brands and translating positioning into language, messaging, and day-to-day execution, ideally in a fast-moving B2B environment.
- Entrepreneurial, long-term thinking with the ability to work on equal footing with the founder and leadership team.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills in both German and English, with strong clarity, precision, and the ability to make complex ideas accessible.
- Strong strategic and conceptual ability paired with a bias toward getting work done.
- The confidence to hold a clear point of view while remaining open to better arguments and new evidence.
Who should apply
The company is not looking for a perfect, gap-free résumé. It is seeking someone who wants to do the best work of their career and is ready to learn quickly where needed. Candidates who meet most of the requirements and can ramp up fast are encouraged to apply.
What you can expect
- Support to grow beyond your current level and do the best work of your life right now.
- The chance to join an AI company that has been building in this space since 2019, well before the current wave of hype.
- Room for substantial personal growth in an environment where you will not always be the smartest person in the room.
- Meaningful autonomy inside one of Europe’s most exciting AI companies, with moments to lead and moments to support others.
- A culture shaped by a “no rules rules” mindset.
- Top-of-market compensation made up of base pay, bonus, and virtual shares (vESOPs).
- A strong commitment to female empowerment and career development for women in European tech.
Additional information
If this sounds polarizing, the company expects that some people will be put off while others will be energized by it. Applicants who feel strongly drawn to the opportunity are encouraged to apply even if they are not fully certain they are a perfect fit.
