Commis II

Position Overview

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Lusail, Qatar is hiring a Commis II to prepare and assist in culinary operations ensuring food quality and hygiene. This is a full-time, non-management position located onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, peeling, washing, and storing foods.
• Accurately weigh, measure, mix, and cook foods following recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Prepare cold dishes and operate cooking equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food doneness and monitor quality during preparation.
• Set up and dismantle the workstation, serve food in correct portions and on proper receptacles.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, and tools.
• Ensure cooking appliances and food temperatures are accurate and safe.
• Adhere to all company safety, security, and hygiene policies including reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and utilize clear communication with team members.
• Foster positive teamwork and support colleagues to achieve shared objectives.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, reaching, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other job-related duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of relevant culinary experience.
• No supervisory experience necessary.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
