Position Overview

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal invites applications for the position of Commis 3 - Pastry Chef. This role involves preparing ingredients and cooking food items with adherence to recipes, quality, and presentation standards, ensuring exceptional guest experience aligned with The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, and proper storage.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Accurately weigh, measure, and blend ingredients.
• Prepare and cook foods as per recipe and quality guidelines, including cold food items.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food for readiness and monitor quality during preparation.
• Efficiently set up and dismantle workstation.
• Serve correct portions of food on appropriate dishware.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
• Check temperatures of appliances and foods to ensure safety and quality.
• Adhere strictly to safety and security policies; report hazards or maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of company information.
• Communicate clearly and professionally; foster positive team relations by supporting colleagues and addressing concerns.
• Meet physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and performing other assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of relevant work experience in food preparation or culinary roles.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification needed.
