Job description
Role Overview
This position is part of the food and beverage culinary team at The Ritz-Carlton Club in Abu Dhabi. It is a full-time, non-management role focused on preparing high-quality meals and supporting kitchen operations to meet luxury service standards.
Key Duties
- Cook special dishes and substitute menu items when needed.
- Adjust and monitor oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures for proper cooking results.
- Move frozen products into refrigeration to thaw safely and on time.
- Plate food with correct portions, arrangement, and garnishing standards.
- Keep food production records and logs up to date.
- Check the quality and volume of prepared food throughout service.
- Coordinate with the chef when additional support is needed during peak periods.
- Advise the food and beverage service team about daily specials and any unavailable items.
- Maintain food quality and follow recipes, presentation guidelines, and preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold food items as required.
Team and Safety Expectations
- Support managers in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff.
- Set a positive example for fellow team members.
- Follow company, safety, and security rules and procedures at all times.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager promptly.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect confidential information and company property.
- Respond to guests’ needs quickly and professionally.
- Use clear, respectful communication with colleagues and guests.
- Build strong working relationships and help the team reach shared goals.
- Listen carefully and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.

- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and perform bending, twisting, reaching, pulling, and stooping movements.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a technical, trade, or vocational school degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. No supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is specified.
