Commercial Lending Relationship Manager

Role Overview

This role focuses on managing commercial lending relationships, growing business through credit and sales activities, and supporting borrowers from prospecting through loan closing. The position also includes ongoing portfolio oversight, risk control, and strong service delivery for commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer the bank’s business products and services to commercial customers and prospects, using direct outreach and referrals from internal and external sources.
• Review the credit strength of commercial borrowers and prepare recommendations for credit extensions.
• Create sales proposals, arrange commitment letters, and deliver presentations to clients and prospects.
• Identify opportunities to promote and cross-sell additional bank services to current and potential customers.
• Coordinate the preparation of legal paperwork needed for loan closings.
• Track risk across the loan portfolio, take steps to reduce exposure, and handle collateral and documentation exceptions.
• Keep portfolio delinquencies within management’s acceptable limits.
• Work with operations and technical teams to resolve issues.
• Take part in community, civic, or professional groups that strengthen the bank’s visibility and networking reach.
• Follow all required service standards.
• Finish all mandatory and optional training, including BSA and anti-money laundering procedures, and stay compliant with applicable rules and regulations.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance as an essential part of the job.

Education and Experience

The position calls for a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance, along with at least three years of experience working as a commercial lender. Applicants should be comfortable using Word, Excel, internet search tools, and Outlook, and must be able to communicate clearly in both spoken and written form. Frequent travel is required, and candidates should have reliable personal transportation.
