Overview

This role represents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Account Handler eager to advance into an Account Executive position without engaging in cold outreach or pipeline development. It involves providing expert insurance and risk solutions within a fast-growing, dynamic business environment that partners with some of the UK’s most innovative start-ups and scale-ups. The working culture is fast-paced, adaptable, and growth-oriented, without repetitive renewal meetings that lack change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical expertise by asking pertinent questions to fully understand client needs and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Analyze clients' existing insurance programs to detect coverage gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Create tailored insurance policies aligned with clients' unique risk profiles and corporate objectives.
  • Design and structure global insurance policies ensuring adherence to international compliance and comprehensive protection.
  • Manage complex insurance programs, including those involving London Market placements.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell insurance products to augment client coverage.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of sector trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Provide strategic advice on risk mitigation that extends beyond standard insurance offerings.
  • Ensure high standards of client service by promptly addressing any service issues.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial insurance broking, preferably as a Senior Handler, Advisor, or Account Executive.
  • Experience with international risk management is advantageous.
  • Expertise in key insurance lines such as Public/Products Liability, Employers Liability, Material Damage, Business Interruption, Cyber, and Professional Indemnity.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to simplify complex insurance concepts for clients new to insurance.
  • Confident and skilled in conducting both virtual and face-to-face client meetings.
  • Proficient negotiator with a proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Experience working with clients with diverse insurance requirements.
  • Possession of a minimum of a Cert CII qualification.
  • Familiarity with Acturis software is a plus.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary is competitive and negotiable up to £55,000, plus bonus, private medical insurance (PMI), and pension scheme benefits.
