About Gallagher

Gallagher exists to protect what matters most, and that purpose guides its work every day. Its technology is deployed in more than 160 countries, supporting a wide range of environments from government infrastructure and global headquarters to dairy farms, wildlife parks and other critical sites.

Based in Hamilton and proudly New Zealand-owned since 1938, Gallagher is a global technology business with more than 1,700 employees worldwide. As the company continues to grow, it is seeking a commercially minded analyst to support and enhance its global finance function.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Group Finance Business Partner, you will contribute to budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting across the Group. You will use AI-enabled tools, advanced Excel modelling and modern planning systems to turn complex financial and operational information into commercial insight that supports better decisions.

Working closely with senior finance leaders, Finance Business Partners and General Managers, you will help deliver accurate budgets and forecasts, produce performance reports, and analyse business cases that inform investment choices. You will also strengthen your commercial finance capability while supporting continuous improvement across the global finance team.

With a strong focus on variance and performance analysis, you will identify the main drivers behind business results and convert detailed data into clear, practical insights for stakeholders across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate parts of the Group budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning cycles
  • Create AI-assisted tools and advanced Excel models to gather, analyse and interpret financial and operational information
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc performance reporting for Finance Business Partners and business leaders
  • Review variances in sales volume, mix and overheads, then explain the main drivers through meaningful commentary
  • Support the evaluation and financial review of business cases and capital expenditure requests
  • Act as backup support within the Finance Business Partnering team, building knowledge of RDTI, IS finance support and intercompany recharge processes
  • Contribute to ad hoc analysis, special projects and process improvement work

About you

You are naturally inquisitive, analytical and comfortable turning numbers into useful business insight. You are interested in how AI and modern analytics can improve finance work, and you bring a proactive approach with a genuine focus on continuous improvement. You can handle multiple priorities and deadlines, work confidently with data, and are looking to grow your commercial finance experience in a fast-moving global environment.

Required qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • Experience in an analyst, FP&A or commercial finance support position
  • Advanced Excel capability, including complex modelling and data manipulation
  • Hands-on use of AI tools to improve analysis and productivity
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data handling
  • Good communication skills with the ability to present analysis clearly

Preferred experience

  • Progress toward, or partial qualification in, CA, CPA or CIMA
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning or similar EPM/CPM planning platforms
  • Exposure to SAP or another ERP system
  • Experience with intercompany or recharge processes
