Role overview

This position is focused on shaping the look of television, digital, and long-form content through colour correction, colour grading, and visual enhancement. You will partner with producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, and post-production specialists to deliver the intended creative style while keeping every output technically compliant and visually consistent.

Core responsibilities

  • Grade colour for drama, entertainment, promotional, corporate, and digital productions.
  • Work with production and post-production teams to define and deliver the visual tone of each project.
  • Make sure all graded outputs align with broadcast, streaming, and platform-specific technical requirements.
  • Help improve colour workflow processes and encourage the use of recognised industry practices.

Pre-grading preparation

  • Set up grading suites, software tools, and project configurations before work begins.
  • Review offline edits, creative notes, references, and project briefs.
  • Evaluate workflow needs, colour spaces, and final delivery specifications.
  • Coordinate with producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, and post supervisors to ensure creative alignment.

Colour correction and grading

  • Carry out colour correction and creative grading with professional-grade colour tools.
  • Create visual treatments that strengthen storytelling and support the creative brief.
  • Maintain consistency in colour, exposure, contrast, and overall image quality across the production.
  • Fix image-related issues and enhance footage while staying within technical constraints.

Quality control and delivery

  • Perform final visual checks on graded content before it is delivered.
  • Confirm that the finished output meets the required quality and technical benchmarks.
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving grading-related technical problems.

Collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Partner with editors, online artists, audio post teams, and engineering teams to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Update stakeholders on project status, progress, and potential risks.
  • Share ideas that can improve workflow efficiency, visual quality, and finishing standards.

Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in media, film, digital arts, broadcast production, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Certification in colour grading software such as DaVinci Resolve will be an advantage.
  • Strong grasp of colour theory, cinematography, and visual storytelling.
  • Hands-on experience in colour grading for broadcast, film, digital, or commercial work.
  • A portfolio that clearly shows colour grading and visual finishing capability.
  • Prior collaboration with directors, cinematographers, editors, and post-production teams.
  • Working knowledge of SDR, HDR, Rec.709, colour spaces, and broadcast delivery standards.
  • Understanding of post-production workflows, file-based media handling, and finishing processes.
  • Exposure to VFX, online finishing, and digital delivery pipelines is beneficial.
  • Video editing knowledge is an added advantage.
