Role overview
This position is focused on shaping the look of television, digital, and long-form content through colour correction, colour grading, and visual enhancement. You will partner with producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, and post-production specialists to deliver the intended creative style while keeping every output technically compliant and visually consistent.
Core responsibilities
- Grade colour for drama, entertainment, promotional, corporate, and digital productions.
- Work with production and post-production teams to define and deliver the visual tone of each project.
- Make sure all graded outputs align with broadcast, streaming, and platform-specific technical requirements.
- Help improve colour workflow processes and encourage the use of recognised industry practices.
Pre-grading preparation
- Set up grading suites, software tools, and project configurations before work begins.
- Review offline edits, creative notes, references, and project briefs.
- Evaluate workflow needs, colour spaces, and final delivery specifications.
- Coordinate with producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, and post supervisors to ensure creative alignment.
Colour correction and grading
- Carry out colour correction and creative grading with professional-grade colour tools.
- Create visual treatments that strengthen storytelling and support the creative brief.
- Maintain consistency in colour, exposure, contrast, and overall image quality across the production.
- Fix image-related issues and enhance footage while staying within technical constraints.
Quality control and delivery
- Perform final visual checks on graded content before it is delivered.
- Confirm that the finished output meets the required quality and technical benchmarks.
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving grading-related technical problems.
Collaboration and continuous improvement
- Partner with editors, online artists, audio post teams, and engineering teams to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Update stakeholders on project status, progress, and potential risks.
- Share ideas that can improve workflow efficiency, visual quality, and finishing standards.
Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in media, film, digital arts, broadcast production, or a similar field is preferred.
- Certification in colour grading software such as DaVinci Resolve will be an advantage.
- Strong grasp of colour theory, cinematography, and visual storytelling.
- Hands-on experience in colour grading for broadcast, film, digital, or commercial work.
- A portfolio that clearly shows colour grading and visual finishing capability.
- Prior collaboration with directors, cinematographers, editors, and post-production teams.
- Working knowledge of SDR, HDR, Rec.709, colour spaces, and broadcast delivery standards.
- Understanding of post-production workflows, file-based media handling, and finishing processes.
- Exposure to VFX, online finishing, and digital delivery pipelines is beneficial.
- Video editing knowledge is an added advantage.
