Role overview
This position sits within the food and beverage and culinary function at a luxury hotel property in Marina Bay, Singapore. It is a full-time, non-management role with on-site work required.
What you will do
You will help coordinate service so guests receive smooth, attentive hospitality and the team operates effectively. The role involves maintaining service readiness, supporting day-to-day operations, and upholding the standards associated with a premium guest experience.
- Work with the team to deliver seamless service and ensure guest needs are addressed promptly.
- Check staff presentation, grooming, and uniform standards and correct issues when needed.
- Handle opening and closing routines, including preparing supplies, organizing tools, cleaning equipment and work areas, and securing the premises.
- Review storage spaces for orderliness, cleanliness, and proper FIFO rotation.
- Take stock of supplies, complete inventory checks, and raise replenishment requests as needed.
- Monitor dining areas for available seating, service quality, guest safety, and guest well-being.
- Raise maintenance requests and follow up on work orders for repairs.
- Support managers with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, and employee motivation.
- Act as a role model and the initial point of contact for fair-treatment and open-door concerns.
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures, and report incidents or hazards immediately.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential company information.
- Welcome guests courteously, anticipate service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and show genuine appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and guests.
- Build positive working relationships and contribute to shared team objectives.
- Observe quality standards and suggest improvements that increase efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, or cost effectiveness.
- Read information carefully in different formats and inspect tools, equipment, and machines for issues.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Handle objects of different sizes and weights with good dexterity and coordination.
- Work in narrow, confined, or elevated areas and move across stairs or service ramps.
- Bend, twist, reach, stoop, and perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Education and experience
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role calls for at least 2 years of relevant work experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
