Overview

The Collection Manager for rural areas is accountable for overseeing the collections department's activities within an assigned territory. This role involves managing relationships with agencies linked to the company, ensuring efficient recovery of EMIs from customers, and aligning with the bank's regulatory standards and corporate goals.

Primary Duties

  • Lead and execute the debt collection procedures for allocated accounts.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of the portfolio focusing on specific ageing buckets within the region.
  • Manage and mitigate delinquency levels bucket-wise and DPD-wise, emphasizing early-stage delinquency (non-starters).
  • Distribute and attain collection targets by coordinating with both agencies and internal teams.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up communication with customers who have defaulted on payments.
  • Enforce compliance with established collection protocols and legal frameworks.
  • Locate and pursue customers who have absconded to recover dues.
  • Suggest appropriate legal actions for cases deemed non-recoverable and liaise with legal teams to ensure case resolution.
  • Keep detailed administrative records related to collections, including delinquency histories, management information system (MIS) reports, and collect feedback daily, weekly, and monthly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduation in any discipline is required; postgraduates in any field are also eligible.
  • Previous experience pertinent to collections is essential.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and external collection agencies effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer follow-up skills.
  • Good knowledge of legal compliance and recovery procedures.
  • Competent in preparing and handling MIS and other administrative reports.
