Role Overview

The Colleague Manager role is designed for someone who can lead with intention, energize teams, and contribute strongly to commercial and service outcomes while helping shape a modern, high-performing store environment.
Leadership and Team Development
- Take complete responsibility for your direct team and the full employee journey.
- Coach, support, and develop colleagues so they can perform at their best, while recognising success and addressing performance issues appropriately.
- Work closely with store leaders to deliver common goals.
- Set the standard by living the company’s behaviours and adapting quickly as priorities change.
- Respond quickly to customer feedback and look for ways to exceed expectations.
- Enable teams to own Service, Selling, and Filling responsibilities.
- Help build a positive workplace by listening to colleague feedback and acting on it.
Operational Excellence
- Make sure the store operates safely and in line with legal requirements at all times.
- Coach Shift Leads and Sales Advisors so operations run smoothly, while not directly carrying out operational tasks yourself.
- Deliver launches, events, and campaigns accurately and on time.
- Work with the team to follow processes and guidelines correctly and consistently.
Performance and Results
- Raise standards through effective coaching and performance development.
- Lead the team to provide a reliable, excellent customer experience.
- Support sales and contribution growth by ensuring the right key activities are delivered.
- Use digital tools confidently, including Time & Attendance, MyHR, Teams, and PowerBI.
People Management Responsibilities
- Support the team across the full colleague lifecycle, including recruitment, duty of care, Return to Work, scheduling, and holiday management.
- Manage new starters through their probation period.
- Identify talent and help prepare successors for future roles.
- Ensure duty of care calls and Return to Work actions are completed quickly.
- Hold absence review meetings when needed.
- Complete all check-ins, making sure achievements are recognised and performance is managed.
- Confirm that every colleague completes required compliance learning.
